This unusual Dal’negorsk specimen consists of a notably complex yet harmonious association of three classic species, each displaying excellent quality and well-defined morphology. Anchoring the composition is a dense, intricately intergrown matrix of sphalerite, its crystals stacked in a tapered, rosette-like arrangement. The metallic, gunmetal luster highlights each fine detail, lending an unexpected sense of delicacy to what might otherwise be perceived as a dense foundation.
Resting above the sphalerite is a tier of water-clear, mint-green fluorite cubes, whose exceptional transparency and saturated color immediately signal the celebrated Russian locality and introduce a striking contrast of clarity and geometry. Crowning the specimen is lustrous calcite with a sharply defined, pointed apex; its soft white translucence provides a visual counterpoint to the sharper forms and darker tones below. Together, the balance of color, texture, and crystallography across all three species results in a composition that is both visually engaging and emblematic of Dal’negorsk’s most admired productions.
